On a holiday to the Dales in 2005, long before we decided to come and live here, we visited Andrea Hunters studio in Hardraw. The children and I wandered around looking at the pictures on the walls, and then watched a lady at a small desk make a tiny piece of felt. Whilst there I bought starter pack for the children,(fools, they were never going to get their hands on it!)and thats how I got started. At the same time I was doing a general textile course one afternoon a week at my local college, but we only made felt once. So I suppose I'm mainly self taught.<BR/> It's really easy to do. The rougher you are with it the better. Get yourself a book from the library, and have a go. I get my merino wool from Wingham Wools online. If you have anymore questions, I'm happy to help, but I'm no expert, honestly!MarmaladeRosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11248527809846840895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6342717924573435695.post-6039156084872995962008-06-20T04:01:00.000-07:002008-06-20T04:01:00.000-07:00Love the hall...it is more or less the same as our...Love the hall...it is more or less the same as ours, but we dont have banisters/spindles we have a solid wall. They always appear at the top of the blog, but if you click and drag them, you can move them down to where you want them. Anyway I like your topsy turvy postings!
